The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 Episode 4 arrives on October 23, 2026, and the same week brings fresh footage from the upcoming film, The Late Lady's Treasure, which has a new trailer and a theme song by Kenshi Yonezu. Here is everything fans in India need to keep track of.
When Episode 4 Drops
Episode 4 first airs on a Japanese channel before heading to streaming, and the official word puts it on a weekly Friday schedule. The Japan TV broadcast lands at 7:30 PM IST on October 23. On Crunchyroll, episodes go live Fridays at 8:00 AM PT, which was 8:30 PM IST on October 23. Here is how that timing lands across regions:
- Japan Standard Time (JST): 11:00 PM, October 23

So for Indian viewers, the Japan broadcast is at 7:30 PM IST on October 23, while the new episode should be up on Crunchyroll around 8:30 PM IST. Keep an eye on The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 release schedule on your streaming app in case the episode goes live a little after the broadcast.
Where to Watch in India
For new episodes, Crunchyroll is the one to watch in India: The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 streams exclusively on Crunchyroll in the Indian Subcontinent. Netflix carries new episodes only in select Asian regions, so Indian viewers will not find Season 3 there.
Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubs started rolling out on October 23, so dubs lag behind the latest episode and dub dates can change. In the Crunchyroll app, Episode 1 offers Japanese, English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu audio; Episode 2 offers Japanese and English; Episodes 3 and 4 are available in Japanese with English subtitles.
Netflix India is still an option for the earlier episodes: the first season arrived there on April 1, 2025. A third-party tracker lists it with Japanese audio only, and English and Japanese subtitles.
What Went Down in Episode 3
Episode 3 centred on a family whose youngest daughter was close to death. The Apothecary Diaries Maomao traced her illness to ergot poisoning from contaminated biscuits, and the episode also laid bare the poverty pressing on the household, which it tied largely to the father's abusive behaviour.
The older sister then came to Maomao and chose to become a courtesan at the Verdigris House, seeing it as the surer future for herself and her sister.
Elsewhere, Jinshi gathered information on the White Lady and began his own research, while Maomao pored over the Shi Clan's records for clues about locusts and human experimentation. The episode closed with Ah-Duo expecting Maomao's visit.
What's Ahead in Episode 4
Looking at where Episode 3 left off, a few threads are worth watching for (speculative):
- Maomao's visit to Ah-Duo, whose ties to the imperial family and knowledge of palace affairs could hand her information that ordinary investigation cannot.
- The White Lady investigation, where Jinshi has learned she is distributing suspicious food among poor communities but the evidence does not yet establish the full extent of her activities.
- The Shi Clan records, where Maomao was disappointed to find nothing useful about locusts, and another clue could surface without the mystery closing.
The stakes are high this time, with the snacks killing civilians and a locust plague looming, leaving Maomao no room for romance.
New Trailer and Kenshi Yonezu's Theme Song
The Apothecary Diaries: The Late Lady's Treasure has received another trailer ahead of its Japanese theatrical release on December 11, 2026. The new footage offers another look at the film and features a theme song by Japanese musician Kenshi Yonezu, titled "Haru ga Tomori" (Spring Is Aglow).
Yonezu is known for songs including “KICK BACK,” the opening theme for Chainsaw Man, and “Lemon.”
Original Story by Creator Hyūganatsu
The film introduces an original story written by series creator Hyūganatsu, making it a new adventure for the franchise rather than a direct compilation of events from the television anime. The trailer provides another glimpse of Maomao and Jinshi as they prepare to investigate a new mystery outside the imperial palace.
The story follows Jinshi as he investigates the remains of a concubine who died five years earlier. An imperial order requires him to fulfil her final wish, but the condition of her preserved body raises questions. He brings Maomao along to Binan-shu, a southern province where the search for hidden treasure draws the pair into a dangerous situation involving pirates.
Indian Theatrical Release Announced
Crunchyroll holds the film's rights excluding Asia but including India, with Sony Pictures Entertainment as distribution partner. A date for India has yet to be announced. December 11, 2026 is Japan's opening date, not a worldwide premium
