Dooko

Privacy Policy

Last updated 23 October 2026

You can read Dooko without an account. To comment, you log in. This page explains the little data we handle and the choices you have.

What we collect

  • Your account. If you log in — with Google or Apple — we keep your account ID, name, email address and profile photo, copied each time you log in. Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your email, and no photo. Your name and photo appear beside what you post; your email is never shown. Google or Apple handles the log-in itself, through Google's Firebase sign-in service and under their own privacy policies.
  • What you post. We keep your comments and replies. With each comment we also keep a scrambled (one-way hashed) form of your IP address to stop spam; the address itself is not stored.
  • Messages to us. If you email us or use the contact form, we keep your name, email address and message to deal with it.
  • Server logs. Our host records standard request details — IP address, time, page and browser — to keep the site running and secure.

Cookies

  • Essential. A session cookie and a security token keep you logged in, protect our forms and count each story's reads once per visit. They expire after two hours without a visit.
  • Your cookie choice. cookie_consent remembers for a year that you accepted our cookie notice.
  • Advertising. When the site shows ads, Google and its partners set their own cookies to show and measure them — see below.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time. The site still works without them, except for logging in, commenting and the contact form.

Advertising

Dooko may be paid for by ads from Google AdSense.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • You can turn off personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of other vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.

How we use it

To run and protect the site, publish and moderate comments, answer your messages, and show the ads that pay for the site. We do not sell your personal data.

Children

Dooko is a news site for a general anime audience and is not directed at children. If you are a parent and think your child has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.

Your choices

To see, correct or delete your data — including your account or anything you posted — email support@dooko.in.
